USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa,
    Ireland or the EU.
  • Over 21 years old for volunteer and Bangkok programs.
  • If you are over 35 you should apply for the Thailand/Cambodia experience which is more suited to adults of all ages.
  • Educated to degree level (If you do not have a BA degree you may still apply for our Thailand/Cambodia program. Combined with our TEFL certificate and 4 -8 weeks teaching experience in a Thai school the language schools in Thailand will be happy to employ you. Degree Not required for volunteer programs)
  • In excellent mental and physical health.
  • Positive attitude with a sense of humour.
  • Dedicated, Flexible and Adaptable.

2. Are my flights included in the price?
No, you must arrange your own return flights.

3. Can I cancel my program and go home early?
The schools need reliable teachers who will honour their contracts. You won't do yourself any favours by leaving early, however, you are free to leave at any time provided you give your school 4 weeks notice so that they can find a suitable replacement teacher.

Remember, it's the students who will suffer if you leave without notice!

The actual duration of your 6, 12 or 24 month program may vary due to the unpredictable Thai school holidays. Your placement may finish up to 6 weeks early depending on the time of year.
  • A six-month program = one school term.

5. Will I earn enough to live on?
Yes. Depending on your program, school and the hours worked you can expect to earn 20,000 - 30,000 Baht (Approx US$700) per month. This is a significant local wage-bracket and will be more than sufficient to cover food, accommodation and other overhead costs. Most teachers have enough to live on, go on excusions, social events and can still save a bit for travelling.

Some rural placements offer less than this figure, but compensate by providing cheap or free accommodation and/or some meals.

Money: Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere but may be of limited use when renting a room or a motorcycle, as many privately-owned establishments will not accept cards. By far the best option is to bring your ATM card for making withdrawals from cash machines this will give you the best exchange rate possible and means you won't need to carry so much cash.

6. Where will I work?
We supply teachers to a number of schools around Thailand. Depending on your requirements, and the positions we have available, you could be working at one of our schools in the city or at one of our provincial branches.
7. What are the schools like?
Schools in Thailand vary in size, some schools have up to 40 classrooms, others only 4 or 5. Many schools are situated in shopping malls and department stores, while others are in buildings along main streets. Many schools have a dedicated room or area with computer facilities where teachers can prepare lessons and relax between classes.
8. How old are the students?
We have students of all ages, but the bulk of our learners are 'Young Learners' (2-12 years old). You might also have the opportunity to teach older students on 'outside contracts' at our corporate clients' premises.
9. What level are the students?
Students' levels range from 'Beginner' to 'Intermediate', although most of our students are at beginner to pre-intermediate level.
10. What about class sizes?

General English classes normally contain between 6 and 12 students in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. 'Young Learner' classes might have as many as 20 students. Rural schools can have as much as 40 students in a class. Schools sometimes offer tuition on a one-to-one basis. Most teachers will have a mixture of large group, small group and private classes, which provides variety and the chance to gain teaching experience with a range of different groups.
